Part A) Your entries…
You must cite our course textbook. Not citing = zero.
1) Why are you here? Take that as philosophically as you’d like!
2) What do you seek to leave behind as your existential footprint when you leave this earth?
3) Step back and think about your own thinking (this is called “metacognition”). What do you like most about how you think? What do you like least about your own thinking?
4) Discuss at least three internal barriers to CT and three external barriers to CT. You must cite each page as you move along in the intro to our text. You must develop your own examples to illustrate each barrier.
5) Discuss the three misconceptions of CT in the intro. Cite each page as you move through the course text. Focus especially on the last one–the third misconception is so incorrect, so bogus…and so common. Why is this misconception so common? What would we be without any emotion at all? What would move us? Slow Down and Dig Deep; carefully, critically discuss how gender notions and stereotypes, and tacit and explicit misogyny in Western civilization, play into this misconception.
