Assignment #5 Marking Criteria (30 marks)

/5 – Structure and Organization: this includes full-length paragraphs with a topic sentence and 4-6 sentences for each paragraph. Single sentence paragraphs are not appropriate. Grammar, spelling, and clearly expressed answers are required. Answer the question only. A mini-research paper is not required. Is your font all the same? /10 – Topic Understanding and Relation to Course Materials: Have you covered all the material and understood it? Did you watch the introductory videos by Dr. Kingfisher? Did you include a reference to the material in an appropriate way? The more referencing the better! The reference for each source is provided in the course, so a reference page is not needed, just the in-text citation.

/10 – Cultural Exploration & knowledge: diversity, world views, spiritual, cultural values. Are you able to express conflicting or contrasting perspectives? Have you explored your beliefs and views of treaties, Aboriginal rights, certain legislation, and/or First Nations’ roadblocks?

/5 – Depth of Response: Original/Critical Thought: Was your response between 750 – 1500 words? Did you carefully read and watch everything in order for you to give a robust answer? Was everything in your own words without direct quotes? Directly quoted material does not count towards your required word count. Have you focused solely on the question being asked?
