I already made an outline which might be good enough but we can discuss it. I have the photos from the machines and Articles which we can put in the thesis. My main reference is the book: “Value Stream Design: The Way Towards a Lean Factory” by Klaus Erlach which is attached. I also have some resources such as articles and sample thesis.
it was a practical project which was done in a bathroom furniture manufacturing company and I must suggest a solution supported by value stream maps for the current and future state and balance chart for work stations and graphs and tables. The thesis contains lean management tools such as value stream design and pull production system and shifting the scheduling system from weekly to daily and its benefits and obstacles and possible solutions.

I created the current value stream map using Microsoft Visio. The future state map should be drawn to show the suggested solution. Since it is a make-to-order production, my suggestion would be to use a combination of FIFO and CONWIP of course backed with explanation and reasoning. To identify bottlenecks and devise solutions, it is essential to create a balance chart for takt time across workstations. Exact Value for the lot size was not available for some workstations and it should be roughly estimated.
The suggested solution should be comprehensive and include : •Change over
time reduction technique
•Improve the internal material transport system
•Improve the ERP system / IT system ( Information )
•Improve work organization
•Use a pull production system ( FIFO + CONWIP, or
POLCA)
