Write a research paper outlining the significance of ethics in philosophy.

Write a research paper outlining the significance of ethics in philosophy. To start, I want to remind you that I’m here to give feedback if you want to submit a Week 5 rough draft for me to look over prior to submission.
The BIG THING you need to keep in forefront of your mind is that the Week 5 paper is an ETHICS/PHILOSOPHY PAPER. Too often, students get bogged down in the details of the assignment instructions and miss out that the paper needs to focus on the ethical issues within the case study.
YOUR OBJECTION AND REBUTTAL NEED TO HAVE ETHICAL REFLECTION AND REFERENCE TO THE ETHICAL THEORIES WE HAVE EXAMINED IN THIS COURSE!
For example, a student will present an objection that is not directly related to the moral issue that the thesis raises. They then spend the paper talking about an objection and rebuttal that are not related to the ethics of the case. Here are a good example and a bad example that both start with the same good thesis. However, things start to go wrong when it comes to the objection/rebuttal section:
Bad Example:
Thesis: Lehman Bros. acted immorally with their investment practices (this is a good thesis and is an ethical statement).
Objection: Lehman Bros. practices were in line with proper repo methods (this objection does not relate to ethics or the thesis).
Rebuttal: Lehman Bros. misused the laws related to repo methods (this rebuttal does not relate to ethics or the thesis).
Good Example:
Thesis: Lehman Bros. acted immorally with their investment practices (same good thesis and ethical statement).
Objection: Lehman Bros.’s practices were moral and are in line with utilitarian ethical practices (this objection relates directly to the thesis and incorporates an ethical theory).
Rebuttal: Lehman Bros.’s practices were not in line with utilitarian ethical practices ( this rebuttal relates directly to the thesis and incorporates an ethical theory).

**Likewise, one of the biggest issues I see is when students start to turn their paper into a report on one of the topics instead of a philosophical/ethical examination of the situation. For example, some students will choose the Goodyear v. Ledbetter case and then write a paper that is consumed with the ins and outs of labor laws instead of talking about the ethical theories that we have spent the past five weeks discussing.
Remember, as your instructor, I love to help you out and inform you about what you need to do on your Final Paper. If you require assistance/direction, please feel free to email me and I’ll give you some feedback! The biggest thing you need to remember is that your Final Paper has 4 major parts – each of these parts is supposed to be thoroughly developed:
A complete revision of your Week 3 Case Analysis Assignment according to the grading/feedback you received from the Instructor. Your revision should represent a substantial edit of your work that fully incorporates feedback from your professor and goes well beyond correcting any grammatical or APA errors
AFTER A COMPLETE REVISION OF YOUR WEEK 3 PAPER, YOU NOW HAVE THE REMAINING THREE OBJECTIVES TO ADD:
The strongest possible objection to your thesis. After the final paragraph of your Week 3 Case Analysis Assignment, start a new paragraph that introduces the strongest possible objection to your thesis.
A rebuttal. This is a refutation of the objection that you have just presented.
Closing remarks. End your argumentative essay with a paragraph of closing remarks.
PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THESE INSTRUCTIONS AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RESUBMIT YOUR FINAL PAPER AFTER GRADING IS COMPLETED
