This proposal assignment is an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to apply what
you have learned during this course. Building on what you have learned through your
other assignments propose a practical application of information technology to improve
quality of care/outcomes in a specific clinical or public health setting. This does not need
to be a large-scale application; it can be as simple as adding a widget on the top section
of the EHR to access interpretation services, and as complicated as implementing a
patient education strategy using social media.

The most important thing is that you
identify a quality measure and justify a proposed use of health information technology to
improve that quality measure.
You may to relate this assignment to your DNP Scholarly Project but be sure to
incorporate aspects of Health IT that you have learned in this class. For this
assignment, you are arguing for a quality improvement initiative that utilizes
health IT and your audience is your colleagues or supervisors. Convince them
that the benefits outweigh the cost for your proposed initiative.
Paper:
10-15 pages maximum
10-15 articles/references minimum
Presentation
You will present your proposal to the class in the form of a PowerPoint presentation
during a synchronous class session.
Your presentation should be clear, concise, well-organized. Please include 15-30 slides
and plan for your presentation to take up to 10 minutes of time. See the associated
grading rubric which will be used by course faculty to evaluate your presentation.
Presentations should include the following:
